Using Instagress to Automate Personal Account?

Long time lurker but first time poster.


First let me say huge thanks for always providing a lot of value. There’s a wealth of quality information and inspiration here.


I wanted to ask about the potential risks of using Instagress to automate my main/personal account. Since first making in back in April of last year, I’ve been diligently following or unfollowing 60 people per every hour that I am awake. Thus far I have only ever got one soft ban for unfollows only due to dumping too many non-follows within a weekend via the Cleaner app.


As this is my personal brand account, I am not looking to push any limits in terms of growth and I’m fine with the current pace for my niche (15k in 10 months of activity for location specific travel). That said I want to avoid having to follow/unfollow on the hour every hour as it really hurts my productivity.


Should I risk using Instagress? Is it any more or less risky than just doing follow/unfollow every hour if you stay within the limits?

How long have you been using it? Do you run "spam" comments? Have you ever had a soft ban or password reset?

I think ultimately the question comes down to whether or not IG can detect that someone is using a bot. If they can, then everything is risky. If they cannot, then it's just about staying within limits and not logging in at the same time on the phone.

Still not sure if it is worth risking using a bot. Is there anyone who can comment on whether manual follow/unfollow is "safer" than using a bot to do the same functions?

Always use an account that is aged in order to avoid any bans

If your account is older than a year you should be able to bot aggressively on it

I'm also thinking of doing this. My account is very aged, could anyone recommend HOW aggressive I should be going? Like 450-600 followers a day?

I'm a little under a year so I think I should be safe. From what I can gather, the majority of the bans that come from Instagress are either a.) not doing a proper warmup of the account or b.) getting reported for spam.

Mladz said somewhere that it would be a slew of temp bans and password resets before outright bans. Anyone have input on that?
