I've read a few guides that recommend creating infographics and submitting them to relevant directories.
Have you tried this strategy and what are the results? Are you satisfied with the results?

I've had good experiences with them. You have to make sure they are good quality infographics though.

Well, I am still wondering how inforgraphics can be used for traffic or SEO ranking etc? can It be used?

Infographics are best method to generate link in these days, They can be used as guest posting on other blogs to have a do follow link. There are some online tools that can create an Infographic in less than hour to have it on other people blog.

If you read the guide here on BHW, then you may read that the traffic comes from people that link to your infographic because it's something worth to link to.Make something people want to refer to and they will link it and you get your traffic.

I think best infographics for link building of e-commerce sites (and I deal only with eCommerce sites) are those which present a unique research data on a particular industry. It need not be very complicated or colorful. But it should give some unique insight about the industry. For e.g if your site sell shoes, you can come up with an infographic which visualises say the impact of shoe's size on IQ. These are the infographics which have the potential to be picked up by news sites for their articles.

kbklash, thanks for sharing the link.

So, you guys had overall positive experience?

Did anyone buy infographics, how much does it cost these days?

You can find some decent gigs on fiverr to create infographics. It varies depending if you have the data already or if you are looking for them to do the research. I just recently tested out one gig and the results were acceptable for what I was looking for. It ran me about $25 and they did all the research also.

Otherwise for top of the line stuff, it could run you anywhere from $500 to $1k

Yes I was using this by sharing my infographics on top picture sharing websites like Pinterest,Flickr etc. which helps to increase ranking.

Infographics are good for link building, but make sure the infographic is good, otherwise, it won't just be the same with the thousands of other infographics out there that do not attract attention. Once you have your infographic created, submit it to all infographic directories, and also post it in your site along with a short content, or content describing the infographic, and at the end of the infographic make an html snippet and encourage people to embed your infographic.

what about using interactive infographics?
I have not seen those yet. Have you tried Prezi presentations? Very similar to Powerpoint but more exciting visual presentation and allows for integration of video and animation. The next thing after infographics.

I'm trying booty5 html5 game engine, I think the next big thing will be interactive infographics with built-in mini games

The more viral content you represent with infographic more hits you get. But using this metod as a linkbuilding tool better to be used only as a part of big strategy to diversify your link profile. I've never had good result while doing only infographics.
