Using .info Domains as Buffer?

I've been digging around a couple of corporate website's backlinks and found that many of them use contextual links from unrelated blogs. Those blogs are hosted on .com domains.

I was wondering if .info blogs can be as effective as .com blogs for buffering to money sites?

.info domains are far cheaper to register than .com domains.

If I register 100 .info blogs, it's only $200. If I register 100 .com blogs, it's $1000.

.info blogs can not be as effective as .com blogs. Because domain extension and domain name does matter. .com is the most credible extension then .org, .net and then others. However it is only one factor, if your blog is packed with good, unique content, well designed, PR and good serp position then .info may be compete with .com blogs.

I don't want to use the .info domains to attract any traffic. I want to use them for contextual backlinks to my money sites.

Will .info domains be as good as .com domains for buffering?

your definitely going to get more bang for your buck when you go with the .com's... it's like comparing a Tri-cycle to a Ferrari... they'll both get you somewhere but, one will get you there much quicker.

There are a lot of .info's ranking high so this is just useless talk, go whit whatever tld you like.

Out of all my adsense sites, and even some company websites I run a .info site I have out ranks them all on an extremely popular keyword that gets a ton of traffic. I would have to say I do not agree with your assessment at all. TLD has nothing to do with placement... this has been said over and over and over... yep... and over. This is Online Marketing 100 here....
