Using images

Hi looking for advice / suggestions,

Currently writting articles with some AI assistance but I am struggling with images, what are you guys doing for images?

If I produce images using canva they are poor, throught no fault of canva just my design skills suck.

I've been tempted to use AI DALL-E but these images are water marked, even without the water mark I believe they are easily identifiable as AI (some debate over whether that matters, but I am targeting absense so it matters in my case)

I've seen posts suggesting articles with no images. Anyone else doing this? I feel like it might be less engaging and increase my bounce rate.

Interested to know your thoughts.

I use stock photos from Canva and Depositphotos, with slight editing on Canva. If it's too specific, I take the pictures myself or get them from the product page on Amazon with some editing.

Generally I'm doing the same but the end result is usually poor. It could be down to inexperience I guess, did you do any learning on canva or does it come naturally?

I have some basic understanding of how things should look, colors, etc... Nothing too fancy. Images should help the user understand what you're talking about, and that's the way I work with images.

I use images from sites like Pexels and Unsplash. What I am thinking of doing now is downloading 10-15 good-quality images in the niche and using the PIL python library to put text over them. I will start writing the script the day after tomorrow when I return to my city. If you want, I can share the script once I am done with it.

If you are not comfortable editing images then why don't you use the images 'as is' without adding any text or fancy elements in it? It will save you a lot of time too. Resizing the images in canva is quite easy even a kid can do it.

You can make the images accessible to search engines by adding proper file name, alt and title tag. So the text in the image is not that necessary for you, given your circumstances.

Awesome I'd been tempted to go with text over images so I would like to see your implementation, solving the image problems with automation is going to make the process way more efficient.

My concern here is that the images are not unique and that i might be penalised for that and also that I don't not have the rights to the images which could one day be a problem. How do you get around that?

I have the code for the basic implementation on my old laptop. I was also thinking of downloading unique images for each post, but now I think I'd be better off using a limited number of images to make unique images for all the posts.
I will share the code here once I am done.

If you have a premium account of Canva then you have the rights to use the images and videos you create from it. You will not be penalized for that. Even if you receive a copyright claim on any of your images then you can get back to Canva and give them the export ID of the file and copyright claim will be settled.

Problem can only happen if you do not have a premium account of Canva.

So do you have it or not?

In my case, I have a premium account of Freepik, Canva and some other image repositories. I use images from there only.

I use canva for images but sometimes I also buy from stock sites. You can buy a membership if you need photos regular.

Canva should do the job if you have the premium; apart from that, just buy a premium membership of any stick footage site. if you are tight on the budget, use pexels or unsplash and edit them
