using Images from wikipedia to my website / blog

    Hi,

    I am new here, I just want to know can I use wikipedia images in my website / blog. Is there any legal issue or what effect on seo ranking.

    There will be attribution on the wikipedia page. Look up where the original image comes from and find out the licensing terms.

    I don't think , you can use Wikipedia images in your website OR blog. Please do Google it image and Find out the licensing terms..

    like the first post said, though most images are copyright free. check out archive org too.

    CC licences allow use of the images under some conditions, but IANAL and you should probably ask one if you want proper legal advice.

    Yes you can, as Wikimedia images are covered by the Creative Commons license. You simply have to make an attribution alongside the image. It's effect on SEO ranking I believe is negligible.

    I'd recommend you to read the copyright rules.
    Images on wikimedia will also mention the license.
    If it's public domain - you're free to use.
    Creative common - depending on the type and the intention of your website. My advice is to only take images that allow commercial use, to be on the safer side.
