using image or H1 as logo, which is best for SEO?

Hey

I wonder if it's best to use a flashy image (with a descriptive alt tag) or a not so flashy H1 text as the logo

I suppose the site will look more fancy when using image, but using text with H1 tag the crawlers will take note of it... and help the page to get higher ranking (or so I've heard, but I'm a seo newbie)

Which one you recommend?

crawlers can read images, just make sure the logo's text is readable

Using both of them would make it far better.

Having image in your logo with "alt" attribute and including the targetted keywords in your h1, h2 tags will make far better than anything.

Though if you've to choose only 1 go for h1, h2 tags.

Agree, h1 and h2 only good for site description or your keyword. Another trick is by hiding this behind an image (logo) or header part.

I've always done a H1 Than the image than my first sentence in the paragraph includes the keyword. Than on the 2nd paragraph I include the H2. This has always seemed to work well for me.
