Using "Google Custom Search Engine" for Additional Monetization?

I've noticed some sites like healthline are using google custom search engine - https://www.healthline.com/search?q1=weight loss

I was thinking I would add it to my sites, anyone had any success using it?

How do I implement it? Just found this guidance https://programmablesearchengine.google.com/cse/create/new do I just implement it or are there some strict restrictions i.e who can and can't use it?

Just implement it as a complement to all the other stuff you're already doing on your site, but don't expect to make a lot of money doing it.

I've never had any major success using the the Google custom search engine personally.
