Using ebay for lead generation advice?

Hey guys I went to a seminar yesterday and one of the speakers quickly mentioned how network marketers can you use ebay as a lead generator, he didn't go into much detail and i didn't purchase his offer. I'm curious of what are some ways i can target potential leads using ebay? any proven methods you experienced would be highly appreciated? I was just wondering like what could you sell on there to persuade them to follow you as an authority etc.

Thanks but it kind of seems hit or miss I would assume. The leads wouldn't be that targeted as compared to paid traffic

Yes they are not targeted as like paid ads but they are more valuable because they are purchasing online
