Using ChatGPT for software product descriptions, is this advisable?

Hi everyone,

I'm using ChatGPT to help me write product descriptions for my SEO/IM software suite.

There is about 12 ish product descriptions on my site along with the normal pages, terms, contact, home etc.

Is it ok to use pure ChatGPT generated content when it's just on a small scale? What have you guys experienced so far with ChatGPT content on a small website?

as long as you proof read it you should be good to go, of couse heavy AI usage gets punished but i wouldn't worry about a few descriptions.

Yeh that's what I'm hoping. Maybe Google does an AI check if it's a sudden 10k posts published or something.

I wouldn't use it. After all, is AI content with all the risks it has. Given how important product pages are, it's very risky at least from my POV

Umm maybe I'll manually redo a few and see if they rank any different. It's just so damn easy to use ChatGPT haha

Yeah you can use chat gpt for the Software product description, i am using chatgpt for many tasks like caption writing, ebook writing but theres a small secret i am using before asking it to write the captions etc for me. And that is firstly if you are using gpt 3 you should copy the whole information about the product or project you want gpt to write about and ask him to memorise the fundamentals that you are providing and after that you can use it for writing anything elaborative.

Interesting, I've not read that before. Hopefully it's once instance where they are actually doing what they say they are doing.

Officially google has not stated anything against ai content.

And personally I'm using AI content everywhere on all types of websites without any issues.

So, I will suggest to use it after optimizing & checking it.

As long as you are feeding it the actual details when you ask it to describe you should be fine. Especially at shorter lengths. Relying on it to know about the item without providing details is begging for a hallucination (if it doesn't know) or a vague description (if it does).

I've tried manually redoing it, and I don't like the results. Most AI checkers will detect the result even with mods.

If you have read the content on your website and feel satisfied as a reader with no connection with your business whatsoever, you can use the content. With most generative AI, the content will be falling into the territory of borderline "thin content", and that could be reason enough for your website pages to suddenly lose rank or be thrown out of SERP altogether.

Is ok, if it helps you to work faster do it, just make sure to check the final result to make sure it makes sence and is not random info.

Yeh I do proof read it and adjust anything that doesn't make sense or simply isn't true about the product

Yes you can but i have better suggestion for you. generate article from chatgpt using extension AIPRM then copy paste that article into zerogpt. it will highlight that portion which is AI detected.Now change that highlighted area into passive voice and your content will be 100% unique even google will not penality you.But do SEO proper so that Google can rank you Higher

Always start with human touch and also i would totally in favour of chat Gpt descriptions by those descriptions should be written by process given by you ....means prompts should include a clear structure and system by you ....

I would advise to not copy-paste the content. You should reword every sentence to make it a human-written one.

Obviously, it is not advisable because you have to face restrictions and penalties after the detection of AI content.

if you use it, I would be careful using the AI generated text directly, what you could do is rewrite most of what the AI generated in the style that you would actually write it to make it look like the text was written by a human and not get penalized by google.
