Just wondering what the rules are for using brands as part of a micro niche site. Against any terms of service or laws to use lets say "Adidas Soccer Cleats" to make a site and profit from adsense? Thanks in advance

bump! any input would be appreciated

I recently started a brand keyword site and havent had any problems with it. Seems a bit harder to rank for but adsense hasnt complained

Chances are if you see too much success you'll be on the ass end of a dispute over your domain name. A lot of companies are quick to go over domains that use their trademark. I've lost 3 domains to this by 3 different companies.

Be careful if the brand name is in the domain name itself.. that's where the companies will come for you. If it's just within your site, let's say an article title - then go for it. I don't see what's wrong with using brand names inside your site.

Using trademark names in your domain could definitely be apealing and could actually get you good adsense conversion, but don't be upset once you make it to the first page and start making a little bit of money and then the trademark owner contacts you and demands that you take down the site. It has happened to one of my sites and three of my friends sites and i've heard of many others. It's definitely a gamble.

A simple dispute with ICANN and your domain can be forfeited. If you plan on investing your time and money building a site, it may be best to avoid using trademarked names.

Hundreds or millions of microniche sites have brand names on domain name without problems but still you can get an infraction at any time it has a relation with the brand itself, some brands will let you do it and some not, try to search on G for "brand name copyright infringement"...or look if there are already some micro niche websites that have that brand name in the domain.
And finally i think you will never get a definitive answer to your question.

What if you register your domain with an offshore company?

Some brands copyrights may only be in the usa or uk for example but it may
not reach Jamaica.. So you would have to regester the domian in a country
that the copyright does not reach..

I had a disput with a domain and now know that the companys copyright
is only in the UK and USA so I deleted the domain and I will buy it again
in afew months and use a address in india as the owner and make it private.
