Using Bitcoin as a savings account

I know Bitcoin can be volatile but I've decided to put some of my savings into my BTC wallet. I have around 15% of my savings in BTC, then around 60% in the bank, and the rest in gold.

How many other people do this? What does your savings portfolio look like? Is there another crypto coin ya'll recommend I should store my savings in, or some other resource?

Just looking for the best way to make money off of my savings. Up until this year I had horrible money management skills. I've finally decided to take my money building skills seriously.

in 2025 it will be a great idea
but then you need to sell it in 2026 (bearish year), convert it to USDT
and don't use exchanges...use cold wallet or at least a protected hot wallet to store this money
 
In terms of crypto, you should probably stick to BTC/ETH. And like the other poster said, if you want to liquidate, liquidate to some stablecoin so you don't pay taxes.

My portfolio is like 60% index funds, 20% liquid, 20% crypto

I’m also an advocate of saving in BTC, I’ve been doing a steady DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) for the past few years and things are looking rather good in terms of ROI. The most important factor when investing in -retry much any cryptocurrency is keeping a long term horizon, people who chase quick gains often encounter quick losses.
 
It is a wise investment. It makes sense not to invest all money in bitcoin because it is very volatile. From 60 % bank deposits, you can set aside some more money for altcoins also if you have some risk appetite.
 
Would say save you A** rather than BTC because that's really important for you even that's why OF has launched to show them
 
It must be assumed that 2025 will be a great year for you
 
only cash and some in the bank, never got anything in gold but I was told to get silver that is valuable not like gold but investigating a little bit more people believe silver will be at some point the gold of today after society decay and other believe because the ammounts, purity of silver over gold but kind of buy the idea of silver but don't know if you ever heards something like this.
 
If you're talking about storing some of your investments for long term like 10-20 years then yes BTC is a good option.
 
Smart move diversifying your savings! BTC as 15% seems reasonable if you’re okay with the volatility, great for long-term potential. Personally, I have 20% in crypto (mostly BTC and ETH), 50% in stocks, and the rest split between cash and precious metals like gold. For stable savings in crypto, you could consider staking ETH or even stablecoins like USDC in a reputable platform for some yield.
