Using BH SEO for businesses?

I was wondering what kind of SEO services you guys use to advertise (local) businesses. This is mainly because I can't see how anyone would agree on having their website spammed in comments or profile pages.

How is white hat SEO possible without spamming backlinks?

One way is to buy high pr links from the actual site owners. White hat is time consuming and costs a lot more money than BH. Screw whitehat!

So lets say you have to do some SEO for one of your clients, you just use BH methods?

Not every client would accept the idea of using BH to promote their sites. You can just use the normal article submission, web 2.0 sites and manual blog commenting.

It's all about creating content and getting it linked to. You just have to get creative. You either want to publish quality content on your site and get authoritative sources to reference it, or create quality content and give it away to authoritative sources for them to publish along with your link.

Blog commenting can be ok but when you're with a real client, you have to get them to approve every comment and there will be disagreements and it turns into a big production for such tiny little links.
