using a web2.0 blog as the money site a good idea?

Any advice about using a hosted blog as the money site?

seems like an easy way to get better rankings considering it comes with a prebuild high domain authority. just build a few backlinks and watch it rank

This has been done a lot and definitely works. Someone I know teaches this very thing.

Watch it rank then watch it disappear for no reason leaving you high and dry.. I would spend the money and buy a real domain even if it does take a little longer to rank it. If you are churning and burning, go ahead and build on blogger and wordpress.com imo. They will be penalized anyway soon enough.

can you point me where i might read about it?

my only concern is to have the blog suddenly deleted and losing my site. A solution to that would be to use paid hosted blog services which cost around $5-10 per month, and so as long as i pay my subscription it will be safe from deletion
