Using a book as a source for my articles?

Hello

I am currently making a camping/hiking authority site. I was wondering if it's a good idea to buy a book and rewrite the content over and put these articles on my website. The reason I am thinking of doing this is because a book will already have good organization and I can seperate it into articles as opposed to looking up varied and and fluffy information from various websites.

I would appreciate your feedback!

Funny, this is what I'm actually doing right now. I think it's a good idea, especially for research, and, a lot of times there's more detail than what you'd find on a website. Just make sure to paraphrase the info you get from the book, I think you should be set then.
 
You can do this, of course. How do you think most people got information originally? They learned of it through reading books. All you need to do is get the information from the book, but rewrite it in a very unique way, that way plagiarism can't become an issue. This doesn't mean type out the content and send it through a spinner. That would be idiotic. You have to get a bit creative with how you word and phrase your new "original" articles, give them a unique flavor all your own, but without blatant copying.
 
You touch on a very good point. It would be even more foolproof if you gather your info from different books/sources. Especially for an authority site, so you have a roundabout article

are you saying you are rewriting a book? and posting some of its bits to ur website, is that so?
 
if it is an old book, plagiatarism wouldn't be an issue as copyrights expire 75 years after death of author and his next relatives.
 
If you'd like to outsource it you can scan the content of the book to PDF files, copy the content to Word and send the doc file to your worker.
 
I read and then throw it on a sit all the time. I just always run it through copyscape once, just in case my memory is better then I think it is :)
 
No no. I'm using the book as a guide to write my articles. Let's say there are 12 chapters. I will divide each into separate articles. Meaning I will rewrite them myself. There will be no plagiarism because I'm not just copying and pasting.
 
and would be plagarism and spinning that bad? just asking... why?
