Using 301 redirect to rank a new domain?

I will have the domain hosted on the same server (I have multihosting). But it should make no problem. It is the same situation like when company A buys a company B and acquires their website and redirects it.
I still do not have the domain from the provider so I will see how closely related it will be.

So today I got two domains from the seller and I'm rather disappointed.
1. domain is TF 18 CF 18 with 9 links from 4 domains (first registered 2001)
2. domain is TF 20, CF 19 with 8 links from 4 domains (first registered 2002)
What do you say, guys? Should I 301 redirect one of those or get a domain with strong link profile?

If I use one of these domains for the redirect, do you think at least the age will be passed?

Hey guys, have you ever redirected a strong expired domain to a buffer site first
(let's say a google doc or a tumblr)...
Not sure if a google doc would pass link juice though but you get the point...
301 --> Buffer --> site
