Using 2.0 sites

Would it be better to get a dedicated .com site for increasing my video ranks? Right now I'm mostly using blogger, twitter, and FB for building backlinks right now. I've heard good things about using 2.0 sites though when it comes to ranking videos. Anyone have experience doing this or any tips?
