Add up the year you were born and the age you will be this year and it will equal 111. It works for everyone born before 2000 and it will equal 11 for everyone after.

Useless but at the same time pretty cool.

Um, it's simple math, it's not very interesting.

Uhh lets see I was born in 1987

    1987+24 = 2011.

You should have explained to take only the 2 last digits of the year you were born.

First of all, he was not that clear and he meant

84+27=111 (84 being the year one was born and 27 the age)

But what you are actually doing is :111= x1 + x2
Since, x2 is going up when x1 is going down (by 1) yes the result is always going to be 111.

In other words there is no possibility that someone was born in 1983 and become 26 years old in 2011. One goes up, the other goes down (by the same amount)

I just came across this thread and thought it was funny.

OP, the only reason it comes out to 111 and 11 is because this year is 2011. Next year you're neat little trick will add up to 112 and 12.

That isn't so much a trick as it's basic common sense. LOL. Basically all it proves is if you take the year you were born and add your age to it, then the sum will equal the current year.

    edit-
Here's another useless bit of math knowledge, but something I've always found interesting.
    The squareroot of 12345678987654321 = 111111111
