I have done 90's at a time twice a day before with no warnings or bans, today I did 82 and got a warning. I quit, but I will add more later tonight.

What you need to do is have a lot of accounts, do 45 on each one, wait a bit, do 45 on each on, do that twice more. 10 accounts you can invite 1800 a day.
 
Come on, I've been here for 3 days and know the answer. A quick search shows that most people say 50-100 friends per day (100 is better if you include a unique message with each one).
 
Okay, so 100 a day and 4 x 25 sessions with 1 hour break time?
 
It depends, the first time they cut you some slack and you can add that many and then they warn you. Now you are on their radar and flagged for potential spam. So the next time you will get warned and disabled if you send as little as 25-30 friend requests. The warning will last for a few hours or a few days. If you abuse it again after that, you account may be disabled. I think your going to be limited to 25 or less per day now but you can try more and see where your threshold is.
 
If you get First warning then Leave the account for a month or two
( still want to get frnds post on mafia wars group u will get 100 requests in 10 minuts if u did it right )
 
Also, dont engage the friends. If they ask if they know you, just ignore em. You can remove those type of questions off your wall also.

Has anybody tried using this method for dating?

Like randomly adding the opposite sex in the same city as you and taking it from there?

Why don't you take the natural way? Start playing some social games, like Farmville or Mafia Wars, and enroll to a couple of FB friend pimping services? The good pimps will send you hundreds of friends who play your favorite game. Just be able to click to accept friendship, and keep playing your favorite FB game for about 30 minutes per day (or let your little brother's friends play for you). Among Mafia War players i not uncommon to find 4000-5000 friends for each. I thing 5000 is the maximum.
