Anyone thought of using web2.0 as money site due to the existing DA and quick indexation?

sounds good in theory, any downsides?

Well, you need your own domain so it's going to have 0 authority regardless. :)

When I entered the thread I thought I will be getting to know about some money app.

Yes, I had used it but due to limitation of the platform, I gradually moved to wordpress

I wouldn't have the guts, in case they deleted the account. At least with a website, it's almost concrete so you don't have that problem.

I think the risk would be reduced for wordpress and wix, as those are the biggest free sites.

a lot of amateurs use web 2.0 as money site, however using pro plan = theme + custom domain linked to ns of web 2.0 provider - but its made only with one reason - luck of experience in web development

cons: you dont control your site for 100% and there is no such customization as you can do with your own hosted site

Is it possible to use advertising networks to earn money when this blog gets good traffic? Or they are no longer accepted because Adsense does not accept them.

Web 2.0s do not have any actual advantage over newly created websites actually,
They're basically treated just a separate and new created ones or even worse,
Nowadays some of them do get indexed hardly even with really HQ content and good design
The last thing to consider is that you should give yourself a favour and stop relying on stupid metrics, especially the Moz ones

You can try some long tail keywords only but don't bother much, if you fail move on

if web 2.0 was good as money site, you would see a spam of web 2.0 money sites all over the serps

things are simple, but brains are not

I would have a new domains instead of using web2.0s as money sites. You have more control over your domains and also web2.0s tends to get deleted if they find anything suspicious.

Only reason to prefer web2.0 over domain + hosting for a money site, is if you are (super) broke lol

I swear sometimes these threads are like stepping back 5 years. People who haven't been in SEO for 12 months are answering questions - so weird.

OP, I think the word you're looking for is parasites and unlike what @hideath said, there is an advantage to them. Medium used to work really well for this. There are still a few platforms that work but obviously a lot are cracking down on welcoming the spam. However, I know at least 5 well-known members on here who have made a small fortune off them but I don't think any are active on here anymore.

@Panther28 - You've been here as long as me, surely there are some juicy parasite threads in Exec or is it still dead in there?

@Nash Commerce - Your thinking is solid. Ignore 90% of these replies. Keep going. Def good thinking for a member who joined last year. Parasites are very churn and burn but don't let that scare you off.

I generally find what others are using for parasites then copy (testing the one below currently, not mine, just one a friend sent me). You can also ask in some of the more advanced SEO groups and hope someone will answer but it's unlikely.

Thanks for your reply, very helpful.

I originally joined in 2014 with my og account but it got hacked /:

@Nash Commerce - now that you have heard everyone's thinking on this, what are you going to decide?

one bit of advice: search for different keywords that you are interested in, and see if you see any web 2.0 in top 20 search results. you probably won't find any. so that should tell you something

Yeah but was he refering to parasites or churn and burn? I think he was refering to affiliate blogs/ecommerces etc, and in that case own domain is best
