Use outsite database in Wordpress

Is there a way to easily use a Mysql database in Wordpress?

ie. I have a database of baseball stats (my running example of the day) that I want to create a blog around. How can I create a site that will auto-generate posts?

I am thinking I should alter the SQL setup and import it into the wordpress posts table, but not sure what all would need to be changed...


edit: I was thinking about using Xsitepro instead of WP, but am afraid that would involve more coding than I am capable of...
