Does anyone here have reason to use or not to use Jetpack for your wordpress sites? I have never used it but was thinking about activating on one of my sites.

I see it has a something called Photon where it says it accelerates your site by loading images from the wordpress.com CDN and a bunch of other features.

Anyone have good or bad experience to share?
Have alternatives that you use?

I have tried JetPack many times, but I always end up uninstalling it. It is just too much of a resource hog.
If you aren't installing any other plugins, then it will probably be OK.
 
I don't use Jetpack, because to me it is useless and provides absolutely no value. However, if for whatever reason you decide to use it on a shared host, be warned that it will eat up your limited resources faster then you can imagine resulting in 'this page is not available...' If you're on a VPS with 1 GB of memory and 1 core, which can handle more then 300 congruent visitors, it will get your page load speed from like .5 sec to 2.5 Is it worth for what it does...hell NO

I use jetpack on my sites and i think it's fine, but u can disable some modules that are problematic.
 
Don't use it if you're interested in having a speed optimized site, most of the "features" can be accomplished with simple coding or less resource-heavy plugins.
 
Jetpack uses more resources and when it came to me full of bugs and errors. So I did end up with uninstalling it
 
I have used Jetpack in many of my sites without much problem. I do agree that it tends to slow the site a bit as it pulls queries from wordpress.com for tracking and other stuff. But if you run limited modules, it work out fine. Just deactivate any modules you do not use. Any third party tracking system is going to slow down the site (even Google Analytics for that mattter) a bit and so, Jetpack also does so as it combined Wordpres.com stats tracking.
 
Jetpack's bloatware, although to be fair, it's got some nice features and it's not as much of a dog nowadays as it used to be.

Depends what I'm doing but I'll sometimes use it for those customers who're determined to mess up my clean beautiful site and then they just fiddle with the options they think look cool. Slim jetpack used to be good if you wanted the features without the wp.com rubbish but haven't used it in a year, so no idea how it's aged.
 
Jetpacks's sharing plugin can autopost to google+ now, so theres that.
