I’m wanting to start IG again and remembered I have a page that’s at 80k followers. It’s been dead for many years but for the last 2 weeks since posting again the account has gotten 100k views. Mostly from USA. It’s gaining followers but losing much more. It was grown organically many years ago when powerlike were a thing. Should I just create a new account to start my faceless niche ? Or continue to revive this one

If the engagement’s picking up again, I’d keep reviving the old account — 80k followers is still solid social proof. Just clean up old content if needed and align it with your new niche. Starting fresh is harder these days.

You can use the same account, just make sure the account is in good standing. You can check that in the settings under "account status". That will show you if your account has violated any terms, and if so, you can get it removed and the accounts reach will be good to go again.

Too good to start over, i think there's a lot to be gained from US data.

Regarding the question of whether you should continue to restore your old account or create a new account, the following are some considerations:

The advantages of continuing to restore old accounts
Existing fan base:

Your old account already has 80000 followers, which is a great starting point. Even if some fans are lost, existing audiences can still be utilized.
Historical interaction:

The historical interactions of old accounts, such as likes and comments, may help you gain better exposure in the algorithm.
Brand awareness:

If your old account once had some brand awareness, continuing to use it may make it easier to restore its influence.
The advantages of creating a new account
New positioning:

If you plan to enter the 'faceless niche', a new account can allow you to start from scratch, avoiding the negative impact and historical baggage of an old account.
Flexibility:

A new account allows you to freely experiment with different content and styles without worrying about associations with old content.
Avoiding loss issues:

The fans of a new account start from scratch and may be more likely to attract audiences interested in new content.
Comprehensive recommendations
Assess recovery potential:

If you feel that your old account has great potential for recovery, you can try to continue posting content while paying attention to feedback and interaction from fans.
Simultaneously conducting tests:

You can also consider operating two accounts simultaneously, observing which account performs better, and then deciding on the final direction.
Content Strategy:

No matter which account you choose, make sure your content strategy is clear, attracts your target audience, and maintains interaction.
final decision
Choose the most suitable path for you based on your goals and resources. If you are inclined to explore new markets and content directions, creating a new account may be more appropriate; If you want to leverage your existing fan base, continuing to restore your old account is also a good option.

On the old account I was posting viral stuff from across the internet. So I can’t really post my faceless content so yeah thanks for the advice. I started another account and it already has 300 views so far

I would not let the 80k account be dead. I would make a serious evaluation and start removing "dead" followers and in the meantime still continuing to post.

Whatever you choose to do, you already have the knowledge, which is what matters the most.

it's ok to lose followers who don't align with your new content. Once you are getting good views and engagement, keep posting. if you have time then start a new page too.

Reviving your old 80k account is worth it if the niche aligns with your new content—its existing reach and history can give you a head start. However, if the old audience doesn’t match your new faceless niche or the engagement is too dead, a fresh account might be cleaner. Test a few more posts on the old account to gauge retention before deciding.

I'd suggest spending more time on the old account to test the waters. If the engagement is good, keep using it. If things go downhill, it may be best to start a new one.

So quick update. Still been posting and views are almost to 250k! The account be active and all videos are reaching over 5000 views at least

If your old account is showing signs of revival, then take advantage of it. Because old accounts are always more reputable than new accounts. Besides, your account has a huge fan base, so take advantage of it. At the same time, you should build a new account as a backup.

Do both, test around 10 videos, and Instagram will give you the answer.
