USA Searches are low.. should I even attempt?

I just wrote an incredibly long detailed post but the BHW censors won't let me post because it says I set off their triggers! So forgive me for my questions being so brute and to the point.. not trying to look like I'm here not to learn an just for answers but I seriously can't find anything!


Question 1 - in my niche, the only people I am competing against are corporations like petsmart. Is it possible to get sales even though those sites are ahead of me? I am not making money from adsense, but I am rather dropshipping physical product.

Question 2 - the avg monthly searches sit around 1.6k. I feel like this is fine enough for selling PHYSICAL product, but what do you all think? The item isn't something you would just "browse" for, if you are going to get it you will probably get it.
