.US Domain - Any special measures needed?

Hey,

Yesterday I found a really great .US domain and bought it.
However, shortly after buying it, I noticed that Whois protection is not available on those domains. But only my first and last name appear on the whois, not the address and phone number.

Plus, when registering, they ask if the domain is for profit purposes or informational. Does it affect somehow the content of the site? Can I treat it like a normal .com domain?
