URL Shortners = GOLD MINE

Sounds like a good way to get banned... People would check their links and would report you to the networks and you would get banned. As a user of url shorterns, you are specifically talking about robbing me, so fuck you....

If you read the full topic, you'd know you can avoid people from being able to figure this out themselves, maybe if they had a friend to help them. All I'm saying is, this would be a killer way to make money if you had access to tinyurl somehow, so fuck you.

Maybe the person is posting it on forum spam, email spam and what not. When some innocent man stumbles across your replaced-URL and reports you, you're f*cked...How do you go about explaining your shortened-URL with your aff.ID on a kiddy porn website? ;)
 
All you guys talk about is karma when it comes to something like this.

Look, if somebody wants to post a link to an Amazon product page, with a messy non-affiliate URL, then what is the problem with adding your own affiliate ID? If I'm paying for bandwidth and hosting, not to mention the time to develop the app, where is the problem?

As far as I'm concerned this is completely legit, but I guess the ethics of this come down to disclosure. You could always state what you're doing in plain view in your site T&Cs and have a disclaimer on the site saying that by using the service you're agreeing to the T&Cs. Once again this is standard practice and I think that anyone who thinks that major whitehat players don't use similar practices are incredibly naive.

Can somebody tell me how that is robbing anybody here?
