I just realized that the URL shortener was turned on in my Dripable account and now I am questioning the value of these backlinks that i've been receiving. When I go view the forum profiles and blog comments, the url is a drip.be domain. Doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of backlinking?

If dripable goes out of business tomorrow, I will have thousands of worthless links.

I am totally frustrated that I did not catch this sooner. Ughhhh!

Shorten your URLs yourself if you're so worried about it. Or
    use mine (I promise, I won't redirect your links, hehe ;) )

301 redirect passes link juice via the shortener. The reason
Dripable is using it because many sites put a restriction on
a length of the URL you can put in the website field when you
spam them. If you blast long URLs you might need a shortener.
