URL SEO Question

Both are important.Url keyword also helps and after that you put after/ is like mata tags which is good for sub pages of the site.
 
If you're asking whether you can do with one to the exclusion of the other, the answer is no, you'll still lose out to another one with both (considering all other factors to be equal) But I suppose what you're really interested to know is whether having a good keyworded page name is enough. It usually is but there's no hard and fast rule about this. The best is to have a domain name that is at least a secondary keyword. And remember that the best domain names are less than four words long. Anything more and the value drops. Same goes for the trailing URL in question.
 
Domain is much more important, especially if it's an exact match.
 
Yeah like Bhopkins said domain is important.

But it does help to include keywords in the pages :)

Keyword in domain name gets a huge boost from the Google algorithm but Matt Cutts from Google is considering knocking that down a bit acording to a recent interview. Keyword in longtails is just good common sense SEO practice. If your trying to create a brand, then not using a keyword in the domain is OK just like Digg.com, Reddit.com, Amazon.com. What you do depends on your long term business strategy.

this would be a subfolder
So you can have keyword.com/index.php
But you cannot have keyword.com/keyword.php unless you htaccess redirct your index.php
 
The reason I ask this question is because I have:
www.mainkeyword.com/another-related-keyword
I'm trying to rank higher for the related keyword because the second keyword (that I just discovered...clumsy research on my part in the first place) is just as valuable as the main keyword.
