URL Forwarding, Stats, DMR

I'm going to be making a url forwarding service mainly for myself, but I figure if there's some interest maybe I'll make it into an open service.

In addition to normal short-urls and basic stats, I was thinking:
- DMR (or ability to chose what kind of redirect)
-- Also ability to set up fallback redirect in case referer can't be hidden
- Limited use urls
-- (URLs that expire after X clicks)
-- (URLs that expire after X time)

What else would be useful?

Well the service isn't built out yet, but I do plan to have it complete in a week or two.

I know what I need, but I want to get a better feel for the kind of features that other people would want.

gunzchennai - I'll PM you with details once it's complete, but what exactly did you mean by having different suffixes? Different domains on my end?

If you could provide different suffixes (.com, .org, .info, and so on), I would be interested.

Is there a url forwarding service that is friendly for clickbank? Meaning will I still get my clickbank comissions if someone clicks on it?

As far as I know, any kind of redirect will work for ClickBank. Just depends on if you want to hide the referer or not.

We think similarly. My version of this is pretty close to ready for public rollout. Just needs a bit of fine tuning for the user experience. Currently I've got a highly customizable system that lets the customer fine-tune the redirect process to do exactly what is desired for each individual redirect code. If you want to help me test mine and see if it meets your needs, drop me a PM.

Hah, well it did seem like there was a need for it. It'll be interesting to see how similar our systems are.
