I have this friend who has a Compaq Presario R3000 with Windows 7 just installed. But Compaq doesn't make drivers for Win 7. Anyone know where I can get drivers, at least audio drivers for this PC for Win 7? Or if there's a work-around.

try the compaq website, first get the networking drivers afterwards windows update should solve a lot more issues.

Finally you may need to go to the vendor website to get drivers... you may get lucky or not...
 
Compaq is the first site I went to. They don't have drivers for Win 7. Only up to Vista, those bastards.
 
You should try to download the XP drivers on HPs site. They will more than likely be an .exe, if the exe dosen't run properly, run it in compatibility mode by right clicking, selecting properties, and then compatibility.

I'm pretty sure most XP drivers work under 7.

Oh, if they have Vista drivers, definitely use those - should work just fine.

I use a tool called DriverPack Solution 10.6 it locates all the drivers you need.
 
Thanks, I knew I could count on my BHW friends. I tried what IAmAbomination mentioned about using the compatibility mode and that worked perfectly.
