【Urgent Issue 2】Google indexed quantity changed magically

Every day I use site command to check how many pages are indexed by Google, but it is very strange that the figure last week goes to 300，but this week goes down to 250. However, I did not do anything for the site，everything is by nature.

From my impression，the figure only could go up instead of going down.、

Can someone help me to explain why this condition happened, is it normal or not？

There was a core update from google last few days so it may be possible that this is happening because of it.
Have you checked the de-indexed pages? Anything wrong with them? Depends on the niche too. In reality, there could be many factors to why this is happening.
Just index those pages again in your google console and check whether they index or not.

Then there are high chances that it happened because of the update. As I said above, try indexing them again via search console (Inspect URL) and then check whether it is getting indexed or not.
Also, check the quality of the de-indexed pages. Were you using low-quality spun content on those pages?

Sites possibly been hit by a penalty you’ll have to try and manually index them
