HG wordpress hosting is simple marketing, any hosting can handle WP for now. And those so-called wordpress-optimized plans are just a joke.

Totally agreed. I have never understood how some web hosting is especially for WP when 99% of web hosting will run WP.

GD is one company who I have always stayed away from when it comes to web hosting.

with HG there is no difference in the wordpress hosting and regular linux hosting. Most companies that offer wordpress hosting charge a little more and nothing is different on the back end just a marketing gig

Wordpress hosting definition = Regular hosting.

You can run wordpress on pretty much any hosting.

from my exp. i got bad result in speed and uptime..
i ask CS she said i use to much plugin or bad template..
but.. i already install new and fresh without plugin and use original theme.
better i use VPS from DO.. i can do anything i want..

The WP hosting at HG has a boost for WP peaks. It's a bit faster than regular hosting + WP for some reason. Perhaps they have the MySQL backend optimized for WP on the WP hosting... It's definitely faster, but I moved those WP blogs to Namecheap hosting now.

I prefer to use small hosts for small websites, because their staff is more client-oriented
