Hello,

I was using upwork since last 3 years with many positive reviews and good amount of earning. Suddently upwork suspended my account last month saying that they think I am taking clients out of upwork platform, which is not at all true.

Now they are not removing the suspension from my account and I am really frustrated and worried about the same. Can someone guide on how I can get back my account pls.

the only option is you have to contact upwork customer support

Thanks for quick reply, well I have message them many times but they are not ready to understand my point and keep on saying that we will not start your account.

Go to your recent conversations on upwork and find out what made them think that you are taking clients outside; if you find any statement where you may have referred a client any solution or any work related website. Note that down; write a brief on it, "Why you shared it with client, and what you had in mind when you shared such information". If that's the case send them a support ticket saying you've found what makes them think you're taking clients outside and here's the brief and proof that i didn't took any client outside the upwork. I hope, they will understand and remove your suspension.

Better forget that account and start a new account in digust form.

Upwork sucks 20% no wonder they are are paranoid. After you pay 20% and taxes you don't have even half the money. the platform sucks.

that sucks, but I doubt they banned you for no reason. explain why you think they did it here

If your account got suspended out of their mistake, a support ticket should definitely help you out.

The only solution is you should consult to Customer Care Team.

Try to contact their customer support, I'd it doesn't work there is a service here in marketplace for up work I think he could help you.

Contrary to the belief. It's always better to build clients out of platforms like Fiverr and Upwork.

Because nobody can suspend the relations between the clients and you, just because they "thought" you were doing "something"

Customer support only is careful first of all to read all the Upwork rules and set the meeting with their manager. Usually, it takes two weeks. Explain the reason but be careful don't tell them fake information they will check it.

Upwork is notorious for banning accounts without good reason. Even after we follow everything in their terms of service. My account got banned once because the client shared his number and asked me to contact him on Whatsapp as he wanted to share some pictures, which he was not able to upload on the Upwork message app for some reason. I hadn't replied to that client for a week, as I was busy with other week. And I found my account suspended. This is why I have 5 backup accounts now.

Can you share the link? Would be really helpful. Thank you :)

So true. After the first project, most of my clients find me outside Upwork and prefer working directly. This is less riskier for me when it comes to payment terms, as I demand a 50% upfront fees. The escrow system in Upwork is a very one sided deal that favours the client more than the freelancer.

I have my account when the nit picky "clients" ask for my email , skype or phone number I refuse to give it to them. But the employers 90% are just tirekickers.

If someone could make the same platform like upwork and charge 5% that would make him rich! Just an idea.
