Hi,

Does anyone have any idea how do freelancers manage to inflate their stats on Upwork? I was recently scammed with 11K by profile with 2 000 000 earned and several thousands of only 5-star reviews. It was a 6-month relationship, and there is no way in hell this guy has earned 2 000 000 from Upwork. He was constantly out of money and even 1K was big money for him. He has over 700 open jobs and takes even 60 USD jobs next to our 25K job.

Upwork is not really a good place to hire people, better try PPH or something similar with less crowd.

Freelancing only sites are shit. I have been scammed multiple times there for $xxx projects.

Being a buyer, you never know what you are getting. Being a seller, the price is too competitive for me to bother working for someone there.

Been on both the sides.

Oh and not to mention the fucking cut upwork takes being the middleman.

BHW marketplace is a bit more than just being “job only”. You will get real reviews from genuine people. All you gotta do is ask..

You might have had better luck asking here, than there.

Upwork is mostly about quantity than quality. I wouldn't be surprised if some "smart" kids have figured out how to game the system to the detriment of unsuspecting clients.

There are many scammers everywhere , we need to be cautious.

I would like to say i hired a programmer Who tweaked a plugin as i wanted and the result and the profesionality were perfect.

I guess i got lucky

I guess they have other accounts and "buy" from the main one, then leave good reviews.
But Upwork takes 20% of every job. 20% of 2 millions is still a lot of money. But if they scam people for a lot of money maybe it's worth paying those 20%...?
