Hey everyone! :)

I have been working as a freelance translator on Upwork (ENG-FR) for a little over a year now, and I would like to know how I could do it to win bigger contracts and get larger deals.

As a student, I was spending less than 10 hours a week working and getting away with about $300 a month. Now that I have more free time, I would like to spend more time on this activity.

Problem: competition is getting harder and harder on Upwork and big clients generally recruit the same big profiles with several hundred thousand revenues on the site and with translator's degrees.

As far as I'm concerned, I have more than 20 jobs on my profile and only excellent reviews (5 stars on all and I'm top rated). I only find punctual missions that bring me 20 or 30$ here and there.

What levers would you use to scale this activity?

Cheers to the BHW community!

It's hard, but that's the way it is! Maybe you can look for people who will like to give you a review. I am planning for a group for this on skype, or maybe here there's already a group please help me by adding there.

It's just helping hand to grow each other and we also know that on the internet, we don't have a family member or friends or people that we know to support us.

We gotta support ourselves.

I can give you a review, Inbox me how do you want it. You don't need to pay me anything extra just maybe 5$(lowest) and Charge if there's any from upwork.

I actually don't think it would change much in my case. I already have 20+ positive reviews so one or two more wouldn't change much.
That said, for new profiles, I can only recommend your technique as it will definetely help to start.

I think you could outsource jobs from other locatiations too and have them post positive reviews on your fiverr if possible. This way you will raise your value and earn more. Possible?

The only Technique is practicing writing and psychology, write something about something that your client looking for if you can give him some keyword on your bidding or hope that you can really do it, The client is going to hire you. But 20 Reviews is nothing for Upwork.
