Seriously with Fiverr and Upwork combination will be hard to achieve $1k per week. Try to use Fiverr, upwork service and combine them into a single house service to target the small businesses around your area. You would be able to hit this target much easier.

Anything worth achieving takes hard work. There are guys doing far more than 1k a week with upwork alone, and get high quality clients in the process.
I wouldn't discourage others aiming to do 1k a week as it is certainly possible with upwork and it can be done if you structure everything correctly and know how to Propose.
