If id does'nt gets approved instantly that means that we could risk a ban right? since upwork will really analyze our account @Infamous Nik

NO Id won't get suspended if you get some errors at the first time wait for 24 hrs again and redo these steps.

When I was approving my ID, I have also done some steps wrong nut nothing happened my ID is working for more than 1 Yr

You don't have to change timezone. Just skills and profile overview.
They are releasing https://www.upwork.com/press/2018/11/13/q3-2018-skills/ on their blog every 3 months. Just pick 4-7 of them and get accepted.

I followed the steps but didn't get instantly approved. And some got banned for changing timezone and country because their ip adress were different I guess. @codemaker 's solution sounds like the normal way to get approved and less risky. Plus you can take tests to show that you are really good at the most wanted skills. I will keep you informed of my results.

after 24 hours, my profile got suspended because according to them a new profile appeared to contain misleading information, so it was flagged for review

That's great but what if you already has an account with them but your account suspended duo to a lot of proposal sending ??!

So here is the trick and will work 100%

If your account was rejected.

1. Go to setting and go Contact Info and select Security Question and save.
2. Go to Contact Info select Time zone Islamabad,Karachi
3. Go to Profile Setting Click Experience Select First Option
4. Select your Categories Mobile Development and other software development.
5. Go to profile and change your description to Mobile Developer and 20$ per hour
6. Go to skill and just select two Skill
1. iPhone app development
2. mobile UI design
7. Delete your Education if you already have.

Resubmit again and its done Your account is approved

I didn't set pakistan as the address as I don't live there though. I also used a custom domain email adress (if you're using this forum chances are you own at least one domain, if not you can get one for like 10 cents + forward it to a Gmail address), I removed everything from web dev (like HTML, css, js, php) because I suspect those are the ones with the most submissions, and added skills from IT.

I guess it was manually reviewed as it got approved 10 hours after I submitted it. I used real info with pic and all.

When you create an account with those skills, let account rest for at least 48 hours, then change to your skills.
Also, profile title and overview has to match with skills.

I've done it that way for few friends - every time worked.

I am from India, I did not change my country/time zone, Just deleted all profile data and enterd IOS app development as OP said.

I think this is the right way.
I got rejected even though I had experience and good test scores. They are trying to get a balance and I don't think the country matter much.

I also added a portfolio item, which in my case was a legit GtiHub project of mine. You could try adding a portfolio item as well.

I did it too. Still get rejected. I asked to upwork support why they still refuse me, they told me it was because of my skills but I added the two skills in the op. this is nonsense.
