Hi everyone,

I’m creating short videos for social media and was wondering if it’s okay to upload the same video to multiple platforms, specifically TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.

I know this is not ideal but currently I am just trying to gain followers and see what grows my accounts. As soon as I am able to monetize on any platform I would make the content platform specific regarding length etc.

Has anyone tried this? Are there any issues with cross-posting, like with video quality, music rights, or watermarks showing up? I’m also curious if using the same content across all three platforms affects engagement or the algorithm on any of them.

You can absolutely post your videos on different platforms. But each platform will have different rules and policies. You must clearly understand the policies of each platform when posting videos to avoid violating the policies of that platform. For example, the audio copyright of tiktok will be more lenient than the audio copyright of youtube, for example. Understand it clearly.

Yeah, cross-posting the same clip to multiple platforms is a common strategy when you’re trying to grow. Just make sure you’re removing any watermarks, like the TikTok logo, because they can affect engagement on Instagram and YouTube Shorts. Video quality might slightly degrade when saved or reposted, so try to upload in the highest quality possible. Music rights can be tricky, using platform-specific tracks is usually safer. Overall, it’s a solid way to test what content performs best across different audiences.

IF they are original contents then it will good but if not, you have to be aware of different algo for each platforms.

Just do it, and there will be problems. When problems arise, we will find a way to solve them. Because each person has a different experience and experience, and sometimes what happened to me may not happen to you. So take action.

Rules and algorithms of each platform are different. You should understand each platform before taking action to avoid having your account disabled by the platform

I’d say go for it. Just keep the watermarks off and see what sticks

Yes, it's absolutely okay to upload the same video to multiple platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels! In fact, it's a common strategy to maximize your reach and audience.

Cross posting your content can help you reach a wider audience and increase your engagement across different platforms
But each platforms has their own guidelines

Cross-posting is fine for growth in the early stages, but to optimize your chances for success, it's best to upload platform-specific content once you're established. Consider removing watermarks, ensuring the video quality remains high, and being mindful of music licensing when reposting across platforms.
