Upgrading a post : do you also change the URL ?

So I'm upgrading a couple of articles on my blog - the biggest one is getting 1.9 (One-Point-Nine) visitors a month, so you understand that it's really important for me to not lose that traffic.

The question is : If I'm changing the title of the article, should I also change the URL ?
Is it worth it to lose that indexation in order to have a better URL ?
Or should I just keep the URL as it is ?

We dont know the url structure you will be changing to

After you change your structure, you'll want to redirect the old links to the new links (301 redirect). You can use a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-301-redirects/?fbclid=IwAR3Tk8ChqRMBGTXuQfujx7aGdHuR2INdPaIXbGo8ilJSCDtV56Xckr5RdWE
 
Very good. I wouldn't want to lose that massive traffic either.

Is the current URL SEO friendly and well optimized? If the difference in target keywords is not too great, I would keep it.

It's very simple.

For example the original URL would be : "website.com/i-went-to-the-beach-in-miami"
The remix would be : "website.com/top-10-best-beaches-in-miami"

See what I mean ? more fitted to the keyword I'm targeting.
 
If the new url makes better sense for your post in SEO terms, change it.
losing 2 visits/month is nothing

so why stick with that niche then? There are millions of niches to get into, man. Don't stick with bad ones :)

If your new title will change the search intent, then you will lose ranking as well as traffic. Make sure the title will not do that. For URL you can change and make a permanent 301 redirect to the new URL.

Because I'm fighting my tendency to always move from a thing to another.
SEO to FB ads to IG to YT to this to that.
So I'm trying to stick to it even if it's just to see it in action.
Getting used to the tools, etc...
Having a shit niche allows me to have faster results, so I can learn faster, and guess what, some on my best pages are already netting me a solid 1.9 visitor per month ! :D

Also, I never know If the problem is my shit niche, or my shit skills :)

so you're playing basically. Nothing wrong with that cause playing is fun, but when you're ready to make money you should move away from playing :)
