Speaking of jerks. One of my clients paid half of a $300 order for 4000 words of content and my editing his eBook. After I sent him the completed work, he gave me the runaround for three weeks, then he had the nerve to do a charge back for the deposit. I'm still fighting the dispute with PayPal, but I did publish the book under his name since I know he'd have a hard time winning a copyright law suit because he never paid for the content and my edit of the entire manuscript.

So yeah, I'm now a published author. Sold 54 free copies so far Waiting for my first real sale.
