I assume you want to optimize image so its the smallest size possible without losing much quality? If you search 'bulk optimize images' you will find various software and instructions.
If you're using Photoshop, make sure you 'Save for Web' instead of using Save or Save As.

Actually, what I mean is what the proper way is to do all the tags. Filename, alt, caption etc. how those should be done, where keywords should go, how many etc.

I'd like to know also. I had a "Trusted" Goo_gle Photographer come and do the "virtual tour" at my business about two weeks ago. Maybe it was a waste of money, but he shared a lot of info with me. He said the tags/geo-location tags were important in photos and using Ado_be Bridge to insert them. I haven't attempted to add tags to photos yet, but I'm curious about this as well.

This isn't rocket science, pass them through any of the dozens of image compression sites there are free on the net. Even pass them through multiple compression as long as the image doesn't show degradation. You don't need a guide, you need google... just search "free image compression online" or something similar and start seeing how small you ca get your images. Pffff.....

Right, "image SEO." I guess its something with enough info to research online, but I wanted to know what elements (i.e tags) help rankings, if any. No worries, I'll crawl back into the noob cave and figure it out.

Perhaps I misspoke, but yes, I meant image SEO.

Do the keywords in the images (the title, filename etc.) help the PAGE rank, or does that all only relate to google image search and the image itself ranking independent of the page?
