Untraceable on the Internet?

You cant be totally anon, if you trying to hide from Uncle Sam, good luck. Not happening, they have more money, more time, smarter people and more people working to access your information without you knowing. Look what they did with Yahoo and broke into Yahoo and for 4 years the Gov was taking cam shots of people who opened Yahoo. For this reason my camera is always covered. All of these OS have backdoors for the designers, that access is given to Uncle Sam. On the other hand if your just trying to hide from other hackers etc, that is 100% possible.

The problem is even if you claim to be someone else on the internet, the your packets can be traced back even with unmatched packet headers. Since you give permission for others to handle your packets, you give up a lot. Only way to completely guarantee what you want is to build your own internet and gateways haha

On a virtual machine with spoofed Mac on public WiFi. And there should be no cameras where they could reference. But who cares, blackhat seo is legal.

No TOR can be traced through the nodes you are using, makng the task more difficult yes but it is not 100% anon.

Nothing is you can just use deceptive measures to make the task harder.

It can, if they're able to read the packets and actually get access to the packets which you're sending. Takes a real serious person to do this though.

However, in most cases they won't be able to trace you back to your origin PC unless there was a leak somewhere. And even if there was, it's likely going to be exposed by a script on a page which would be used to expose the IP of the server, not the end-user. Of course if the server owner is you then you're fucked.

But let me tell you this.

If you're running around with a tails / proper PGP setup with TOR, you're not going to get found. :-)

It is traceable by high authorities and agencies

Can I buy a used data card or an internet device on craigslist
It will not be on my name and it will not be traced back to me.

OP, while I appreciate your desire to stay anon, if you are planning on doing something to make money that requires this level of anonymity, I'd suggest doing something else for money that you don't have to worry about being caught.

Thanks for the replies. So is it really impossible to go untraceable, even if you use TOR, VPN or the like?

A while back, the US federal government took down the biggest ISP in the TOR space. Then, the FBI installed a piece of JavaScript on the ISP's website (maybe inside the login area) that connected to their servers. So any customer who logged in, their browser executed the JavaScript, connected to the FBI server, and revealed their real IP address.

It's definitely possible.

From the client side, the only way to protect against something like this is to have your OS have a firewall rule to route all traffic through TOR. And as a precaution, disable addons like JavaScript, Flash, and Java. Tails is a Linux distro that does just that.

You are never 100% untraceable on the internet however if you want to be as untraceable as humanly or technically possible in this case look into TOR BROWSER that uses the tor network and for currency that is untraceable I use bitcoins however there are several coins at this point.

Sat in Wetherspoons with a sock over your head.

No TOR Browser is going to give you 100% anonomity.

Heres one way to be 100% anon. Use disposable(prepaid w/cash) wifi devices and connect that device to a public network(like starbucks). Make sure theres no cameras or be well covered up through the whole process. Do what you got to do and the make sure you dispose of the devices used.

When I say dispose I don't mean like put it in your car and drive home with it with your GPS location enabled, then placing it under your bed or closet when you get home. This is not proper disposal.

While this probably isn't bulletproof a quick way to be pretty anonymous and also very private about it is to VPN to TOR

Use Froot VPN - it's free right now so no money trail there.

Obviously you have to connect to Froot though so being at your house is questionable but if you trust they don't keep logs and they're not really owned by the government then you might be okay.

If you use the TOR browser also disable scripts.

If you have to make payments then do it in Bitcoin. Use a Bitcoin tumbler if you have to receive payments in Bitcoin and want to make them more difficult to track.

Nothing is bulletproof, nothing is unhackable and nothing is untraceable, keep that in mind and don't get too cocky.

This is actually pretty good advice, now if you throw in TOR and/or a VPN (leveraged in a fashion without the typical electronic money trial), you'll be reasonably hard to track down even for most government agencies.

100% Security is not possible. Never . And will never be.

You can secure yourself, yes, but you cant be 100% secure ..

I hope someone with experience can comment on this article:

According to it, it says as long as you uses public IP and MAC untraceable to you, then no one can catch you on the Internet. Is it true?

Not if you input any personal information. But here is a way (written for a slightly different forum topic) to be untraceable:

GPS Incognito Method

There's a way to disable the root directive from re-enabling GPS

If you think it's possible for someone to hack the root directive for your particular system, there is likely a physical GPS apparatus within the device that one can take apart or permanently remove, whereby disabling the very potentiality of GPS. The best way to get access to this particular feature is to look online for a model-blueprint with a function-directory. If that proves unfeasible, you could look for an engineer who worked on the project at the particular company and pay him to describe the method of discovering and removing the particular configuration. If that also proves unfeasible, then learning electrical and computer-technology engineering to discover the unique functions of each part of your device will probably be more difficult than finding someone who's able to help you, most likely at a fee (I'd look in the engineering staff of wealthy programming and computer hardware companies--the skill of the individual will likely be the primary factor in determining his mercenary-project cost.)

All this being said, if someone really wanted to hack your device, and you use WiFi, they could find the location of the router through illegal hacking or a court order and possibly determine your *general* location (depending on whether the location of your router relative to your own makes it conducive to the deductive power of law enforcement officials to cross-integrate your identity with the location-potential to determine where you are or would likely be.)

Though all this being said, one could conceivably replace one's electrical-directed GPS configuration with a mechanical one or special-software defense system, whereby allowing quick internet access at your command (4G & WiFi are a form of GPS [one can bounce the signal back from the company satellite to one's receiver off the subsequent space-satellites]) within an instance where this unique type of location-determining bounce could be detected by this special-software system and immediately direct (through one's own programming) a reaction-function to disable the GPS apparatus by means of its own separate configuration system, or merely alert you prominently of the breach and so enable you to mechanically disable one's GPS apparatus. Though one would need to find out the root-denominator identity of the special location-bounce-action to fully disable the possibility of one's warning system being disabled via non-essential bounce-identifying software (wherein able to be blocked or misdirected from its function). Also, to wit if unknown, initially none of this will work at all if you give your service-company/ISP your actual billing address.

If one uses this method correctly, and if one cannot find a method for 100% incognito by a special-bounce-stifling hardware, and one includes the GPS apparatus of one's call-connecting mechanism within the sphere of these activities as well, then I'm pretty positive there's like a 99% chance they'll never be able to track your exact or even general regional location unless (I wager highly unlikely) they store past satellite communication information from your constant GPS access and determine through past-history your general location by means of the recorded satellite-bounces. (I am not aware of any company having such potential or even being willing to fill data-storage/copying-systems with such massive quantities of virtually worthless data.)

So, given all of this, I'd predict that following the exact direction of my (above-mentioned) best utilized system for incognito will virtually guarantee success at the attempt.

Hopefully this information proves valuable to those with objectively moral intentions.

Farewell,

Jeff Phaeous

I agree with Crystal. There's no way to be anonymous on the internet.
