I live in Toronto, Canada and I have a fully custom built website and domain for online betting.

The only problem is, I don't want to get a gambling license in other countires just yet due to its cost.

So, my problem is my payment gateway. Accepting and Sending money.
I heard moneybookers allows online betting BUT only to licensed companies.

I need to custom code the merchant I choose to work with my website but I don't know which merchants to choose. I would like to use liberty reserve but they do not allow direct credit card to merchant account payments.

Please advice me on a good merchant!

From what I hear the US is moving closer and closer to legalizing online gambling. I am no expert on this subject, so sorry if i mispeak, but you should research this further. I also heard that in legislation this week they will be "BARRING" companies from licenses that have been operating their business and allowing us people to gamble. If that is the case you might want to wait on everything until a US license is available, considering a ton of business most likely comes from here?

I rather not wait, I need this resolved within 2 weeks.

I appreciate your input, those are some interesting facts!

What about direct debiting checking accounts? I think people are somewhat used to having to go through a few hoops to get their accounts loaded with money.

i do not think that is safe. making a gambling website, you would need a license. in the us this is not allow i dont no about canada tho

Dear Bogoons

You may want to look into incorporating a Cyprus company and have the Cyprus company be the owner of the website.

There are a few European merchant processors which will open merchant accounts for Cyprus companies and/or gaming companies.

Also Cyprus does not have any online gambling license requirements.

you sure about that ??

Get your license buddy, even if it's expensive.

Dear Pyronix

Yes.

A simple search on Casinocity_com will show you that there are over 40 online gaming websites operating under the Cyprus jurisdiction ranging form bingo, poker to slots.

Cyprus to end online gambling

28 July 2010

CYPRUS -- The Cypriot government intend to end online gambling, The Cyprus Mail reported.

Online gambling has spread across Cyprus recently and legislation has been approved to thwart it, the report said.

The government wants to regulate internet betting on sports, with companies requiring licenses and will ban online roulette and poker, according to The Cyprus Mail.

Under the drafted legislation, a gaming board will be introduced to Cyprus, who will be responsible for regulation, The Cyprus Mail reported.
