Unlock content by hitting "Like" - how are they made?

You know it's always some crazy ass title like

"OMG This is scary! I didn't sleep for 3 days after seeing it"

Etc..


But how are they actually made? And how are they monetized? Is it through CPA?

I did try and search both on google, youtube and BHW and could not find an answer...

its a little bit of Java Script.

They monitor the onClick event.

The onClick submit's the fb like but also triggers a cookie or other event that can be tracked that then allows the content to be accessable.

if your talking about fan pages than its Fan-Gate/Like-Gate iframe tab should be easy to find on google

For me the old FBML doesn't work, fb got rid of static FBML i'm pretty sure

If you can't find anything that works i'll post a thread with a step by step picture guide with code and everything

It can actually tell if a user has liked your page or not through fb itself

The old FBML version is dead but theres an iframe version and It definately works.

I'll share it when its not 1am in NZ...

There was a "like lock" wordpress plugin you should look into, also there is a nice facebook app that can do that if you type in easily-build-edit-facebook-pages-static-html-wysiwyg-editor, makeuseof into google a nice tutorial will come up explaining the whole thing. I have used it for a bunch of clients, and it's extremely fast and easy.

You can monetize it any way you'd like, but CPA is generally the easiest way to generate income with these kind of things.
