No. Jailbreaking is only unlocking your phone so it can use cracked applications. You need a factory unlock.

If you're talking about using it for prepaid or something then you need to change the APN settings. We use straight talk and we also had to trim our SIM cards down to fit. Just google about the APN settings.

I believe you really need to Unlock through IMEI.
