Services like the OP mentioned have been taking advantage of novice mailers for a long time.

Anyone can "send" any amount of emails per day. However, it's a whole other thing to "inbox" them.

If your data is crap, then you're going to get blocked and blacklisted by most providers quickly. Also, trying to warm up IPs using poor data will be very difficult.

Otherwise, you need to domain target your data and only sent to the domains that you can inbox decently based on the IPs you have.

You really need to work with a true mail friendly IP provider that can provide IPs in volume at rock bottom pricing and has an IP replacement policy.

Also, never pay in advance for your IPs. Any real provider will allow you to test the IPs first to make sure that they are not blocked / blacklisted before paying. If you pay in advance, then you are at their mercy waiting fro them to replace, but if you haven't paid, then they will be much quicker to do.

If you don't have quality data, you are still going to churn and burn IPs, but you can apply the right sending strategy to the domains you are mailing and get the most delivered as possible.

The whole point to is to collect your opens / clickers and start building good data.

You will also need a good mailer. Which most will run $500-$1000 per month. This doesn't include IPs.

This is why the shady places usually offer Interspire and PowerMTA, because they are hacked. Interspire is a joke and no real mailers use it. Plus they totally overcharge for IPs.

I actually built my own custom high speed / high volume mailer, so I have no monthly costs. Over the years, I have probably spent an easy $200K on it.

Lastly, work with providers in the U.S. Every shady company I can recall ever seeing was outside the U.S.

Mailing with your own servers / IPs isn't cheap and you have to push volume to cover the costs / ROI. The other alternative is to get quality fresh / targeted data and send using ESPs / SMTPs that provide shared IPs. That way you can piggyback off the good IP reputation and get decent inboxing for the most part. This will allow you to get started with less upfront expenses and build your open / clicker data. Not that it is a total walk in the part, as you will have some collateral damage along the way.

Anyway, there is really much more to it, but done right it can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that is a huge range, much comes down to one's ability to scale.Along with being able to effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.
