Good share OP. I actually made something similar to this a few years back. It was an android app that would disconnect then connect the 3g on command and my pc would tether to it.

It's worked great at first but I realised the network I used (EE if I remember correctly) had a relatively small pool of IP addresses so wasn't suitable for my needs. But if the network you are using doesn't then it's a fantastic little trick

No, you just need USB Dongle that has SIM support then buy a sim with unlimited data.

Or just use AIRSOCKS

but yeah it can work too
