Hello everyone,
I just got a quick question. I am trying to use GA to find a particular broken link without using Screaming Frog. So I have tried to sort the information by page and page title using the advanced search to look for the 404 page title. The result is the actual 404 page instead of serving me the broken URL.
I've tried changing the primary dimension to Page Title and using the 404 page title and looked at the previous page it is telling me majority of the previous page path is from entrance.
Could it be that Google has indexed a page and on the client side they removed the page/changed the URL without a redirect so the user lands on a broken page? This only happened on specific days and not widespread. Everything else on the website works.
I've tried to find the URLs where the previous page lead to the broken page and used Screaming Frog to crawl that page to inspect if there is any broken outlinks but there isn't.
Any suggestions? Or maybe I've made some major mistakes? Any help is appreciated.
