University Personal Statement - Anyone good with this?

I'm applying for Uni (for a computer science course) and I need to write my personal statement but to be honest I'm quite puzzled, especially because I'm a rubbish writer. My grades are average so I'm not looking at any of the top places but there are a few that I could possible get into that are well respected. I basically need to sell myself to the Uni to get a position and since BHW is a marketing forum I guess I should receive some good advice...

Go to thestudentroom. It a great forum where you can get advice on all exams, uni entry, jobs and student life in general.

Just google the student room.

Yeah I know, I've heard of it. I wanted to ask here at BHW because it's a marketing forum and I'm pretty sure that people here will have better advice on how to sell yourself rather than people at the student room.

So, what exactly do you need help with? Writing a ~1,500 word paper?

In mine, I talked about how important family is to me, and how I want to be a positive member of society.

Then I moved into explaining that a business degree would help me do that. And that this particular university I feel would suit me best.

I would also mention any success in your sole proprietorship or corporation you have selected in the field you're going for. It shows you're serious.
