I need some opinions on if this would be considered duplicate or unique content, and if doing this could result in any penalization from google or not.

1) Take unique article from your site
2) Create video for topic of article, with voice over being the article
3) Upload transcript of article
4) (optional) add transcript to video description
5) link back to site (main domain or article post)

if this is word for word the same as the original article, that has already been indexed by google, would this be considered duplicate content? and can doing something like this hurt the ranking of the original article or main domain?

I'm wanting to make videos for unique articles written on products we create. The articles have been sent out with different press release distributions or posted on our main domain.

Any other thoughts or comments on this?

And can anyone tell me if adding the transcript to the video, but not in the description, will result in a penalty?

The main concern is a penalty to the main domain. The videos are primarily for bringing in additional traffic outside of google to the money site. but i cant afford to do anything that will hurt the money site.
