Unique discovery about scrapebox's link checker

Hello guys I don't know whether you know about this or not and whether this has been shared here or not.

So I just accidentally checked my links using "Error 403 Forbidden" proxies but the link checker's still worked. I tried it once again and the checker still did its job.

Does it mean that the link checker automatically does check the links without using any proxies?

You're spot on, Link Checker does not use proxies. Proxies are only for passing spam filters like Akismet. And of course to not get banned from Google...
 
what else doesn't require proxies? how about using the rss ping for example?
 
Here is another unique for you, mate :-)

Link checker doesn't check links, it checks text. So if the website mentions your site without linking to you it will still report as "found".

The link checker just examine the source code from a page to find your link in.
No need proxies to just connect to the website/page.

Ya I'd stay away from using proxies while running link checker. Its 100% unnecessary and it just slows it down and creates errors.

It would be cool if someone compiled a list of the different add-ons/features in Scrapebox that are ok to use without proxies.
 
Hello guys I'm here just want to say that although click check on the "Use proxies", I think the link checker would still check your links without using proxies. So don't bother to click or not to click on the using proxies tab, since the link checker would check it without using proxies anyway..

Still the linkchecker shows number of proxies used in the lower corner.. and that confuses :D

But why I couldn't see that? What kind of link checker do you use?
 
The blog analyzer, link checker, and other scrapebox addins that don't rely on services such as Google/Yahoo don't use proxies. If scrapebox is just getting the source of your harvested URLs and analyzing, getting outbound links, checking if your link is there, ect.. there is no need for a proxy.

When checking the URLs pageranks, indexed, ect of course you would use proxies.

So off the top of my head, the nofollow/********, obl checker, link checker, blog analyzer.. They don't use proxies, even if you have the proxy box checked on the main window. There may be others, those are just from memory

In case of checking outbound links, 80% of my list appeared as timeout. But when I check them manually, then I find most of the timeout links to be ******** with lower outbound links. So in this case scrapebox is not 100% efficient as SEO spyglass use to be.
